Mercyful Fate es una banda de Heavy Metal con letras oscuras, fue y sigue siendo la herencia musical y artística de la mayoría de los grupos de Heavy Metal y Black Metal. Fundado en Copenhague (Dinamarca) en 1980, experimentan un gran auge en la escena "metalera" europea , sus siniestros y emocionantes temas, gracias a la habilidad del guitarrista Hank Shermann y destacando la particularidad vocal de King Diamond.

◆ Doro

Doro Pesch (n. Dusseldorf; Alemania 3 de junio de 1964), es la antigua cantante del grupo heavy metal Warlock. De origen alemán, fue una de las primeras cantantes de metal en los años 1980, cuando los hombres dominaban este tipo de música. La formación de Warlock fue cambiando y cuando llegó el momento en que Pesch fue la única que quedaba de la primera formación, el quinto disco salió como Doro en lugar de salir bajo el nombre de la banda.Pesch ahora cursa una carrera de solista y vive en Nueva York Su penúltimo disco Classic Diamonds es una colaboración con The Classic Night Orchestra, la cuál repasó también algunas de sus canciones anteriores.
